An attractive mahogany and brass mantle / table clock by George Trendell, Maidenhead (Berkshire) C.1840.

The well figured mahogany case is attractively inlaid with brass decoration; it has brass side frets and carrying handles.

The 8-day movement strikes the hours on a bell, it has shaped and footed plates, anchor escapement, 5 finely turned pillars and a pendulum with above bob regulation and a holdfast.

The round 8 inch painted dial is fully signed and retains its original hands.

A most attractive smallish clock.

George Trendell was recorded working in maidenhead from 1837 – 77.
